What Would It Look Like If You Took The Lead In Your Career?

My 27-year old self would be doing backflips if she knew this move was in the works for us....

Have you ever wished you could go back in time and share a message with an earlier version of yourself?

I had this thought a few days ago when I came across an old video of myself on YouTube breaking down the tenets of the “quarter life crisis” for a post I did for this blog way back in the day.

There in front of me was 27-year old Amber. Her hair was big and illustrious. She spoke with her hands (a habit I still have), and she was trying to convey a sense of joy that I know I absolutely did not have at that time in my life.

Straight up: my 27th year was rough. I was in between jobs, struggling to make ends meet, and wasting a lot of energy trying to pretend as if everything was fine.

Coming across this video forced me into a moment of reflection and gratitude at how far I’ve come in my career and in my life. My reflection felt deeper this week, as I’ve got some news I want to share: I’m in the process of being certified as a Leadership and Executive Coach in partnership with ACT and Brown University.

My 27-year old self would be doing backflips if she knew this move was in the works for us.

Taking Personal Development To The Next Level

I’ve always had a deep interest in personal and professional development, but as I have gone further in my career, and taken on high-level roles, my interest in the way leadership (both as self-practice and as an executive function) has inspired me to look for ways to not only challenge my growth, but the growth of others as well.

Y’all know that I believe our generation has the potential to change how we approach work and careers. I believe now is the time for us to show up, lean into that belief, and develop our own models for how we want to lead organizations and businesses in the future.

I am excited to play a role in that systemic shift.

So, what’s next?

Actually an opportunity for us to work together! As part of my program I will be doing multiple rounds of coaching sessions. In the Spring I will be offering special sessions for TFLP subscribers.

You know what that means, right? Make sure you’re on the list!
