This realization hit me hard. Upon reflection, I noticed that I end most of my work days in a state of mental shutdown in which I am unable to summon the energy to do things to enrich my evenings. I had been searching internally for the answers as to why I have felt so depleted, but this week away let me see it’s not internal, it’s external.

Last week I wrote about the journey of having more flow and ease in life, and this week I got to lean into my ideas when I suspended my normal routine in favor of spending the week at Brown University in Rhode Island where I am earning a certification in Leadership and Executive Coaching.

The start of the program was enlightening, enriching, and everything I hoped it would be, but while I was in the glow of this new beginning, I also noticed something else: my energy felt lighter. I was tired at the end of my day, but I wasn’t drained.

I don’t think I am alone in this, especially as a person in a leadership role. I heard many of the same sentiments this week, and it became the focus of my live blog I did this week on IG.

I’d love for you to watch the vid below and share your thoughts!
